Sagacious. That is the word used by Matt Lewis to describe Sarah Palin in his recent article at Townhall Daily.com
I love the word. I love that it refers to "Having or showing keen discernment, sound judgment, and farsightedness; discerning." I love that this could be interpreted as knowing something before anyone else... or (it would seem) 'prophetic'.
Maybe this is the only way to fight those who won't show their hand - only playing it when they think no one is looking. Maybe this is the best way to deal with those who have two faces - refusing to reveal who they really are; the double motive players who aren't satisfied with anything less than "the winner takes all"... no matter the cost to their constituents.
Maybe, just maybe, being sagacious is the only way to get one's hands on the ball again and take over the game. Maybe a soccer mom actually knows just a little bit about the tactics necessary to regain control of the sport, after watching the game for so long.
Oh, yeah, and the opposite of Sagacious just happens to be: "stupid, ignorant, dumb, obtuse, foolish, fatuous, silly...". Nancy Pelosi has used some of these terms to describe those of who don't agree with what her party wishes to do with the constitution, health-care, etc. Nancy, and her counterparts, believe that We The People are blind as bats. Dumb as rocks. Silly little pests who won't be quiet.
Perhaps, we are instead sagacious. Maybe that is what is really wrong with us, Nancy.
